Pedro Almodóvar, spanish, is one of the most succeful known filmmaker of his generation. His films talk about sex, drama, family, problems, routine, passion and a irreverent humor that is show with many funky colors, characters why he became well known.
His last film, “Broken Embraces” (Los Abrazos Rotos) 2009, brought Almodóvar’s sweetheart, Penélope Cruz and came again dazzling in a wonderful photografy being the director’s longest and most expensive feature. The plot follows the tragic fate of a former film director, who was blinded in a car accident fourteen years before. The film has a fractured puzzling structure, mixing past and present and film within a film that Almodóvar explored previously in both “Talk to Her” and “Bad Education”.
As a result of his last film, he is on top with many works in media. The first honer was an editorial for the Harper’s Baazar Magazine, where famous fashion names were dressed like the known Almodóvar’s women. Names like Angela Missoni, Sonia Rykiel, Karl Lagerfeld e Jean Paul Gaultier!
The secod honer for the director’s work was a line of mags of Illy’s label, in a coffee set that the own Almosóvar had design. The mugs comes with his film inspiration like “Volver”, “Women on the verge of a nervous breakdown” or “Bad Education”.
The Illy’s Art Collection will launch March 18th, in in Madrid and prices goes since U$80,00until U$ 175,00 the full set.
