Haring – Fashion Inspiration

Tommy Hilfiger and Patricia Field creates garments with the artist’s inspiration

Even if you don’t know this name you had probably already seen his art. Keith Haring (1958 – 1990) was an graphic designer that used his art to talk about social themes. During the eighties he made much sucess, but in his all career his work has been admired.

He had the grafitti, hip hop, break dance and the yankee style as a strong influation in his art, that first start in walls and streets until gets notoriety. The simplicity and the colors makes his job totaly personal, can being associated with him at a first look.
Hering died with 31 years old, victim of AIDS, theme that he had worked a lot in his paints and fight against.

Now, in honer of his work Tommy Hilfiger just had launched a new collection of shoes that carry Haring’s art. The official launch will be in September 2010, but the Collete Store, in Paris is seling, with exclusivity, the amazing sneakers during two weeks. The prices goes since £49 until £90.

The collection brings sneakers and galoshes, for men and women, and all the models comes with Haring’s art, that translate the yankee 80’s culture.

Not only Hilfiger get into the Haring’s world. The designer Patricia Field, that also is the Sex and the City’s Stylist and the movie “The devil wears Prada”, had launched a collection inspired in the icons. House of Field by Patricia Field, comes with a dazzling collection with Haring’s prints. It comes in scarves, dresses, bags all in the artist’s tribute. Is a delight to see all that colors in yummy garments!
