Check the unexpected proportions in Gaultier’s collection in Paris Haute Couture.
Jean Paul Gaultier’s collection for Paris Haute Couture was presented yesterday, July 7th. The designer started showcasing his signature piece, a black gabardine trench coat, followed by fur lapels and leather outfits.
He enhanced shoulders and hips in construction of exaggerate, twisted with a glam of 30’s, noted in delicate shoes and turbans. The cuts appeared in many garments, delineating silhouettes and transforming body shapes.
The palette emerged from camel, caramel and a splash of vivant hues like electric green or detachable red, but the one which prevail was the black, being absolutely wonderful in rich details. All the black suggested a subtle sensuality covered by a discrete elegance, giving a mysterious feeling for the viewers. The transparent coat in fluid material with silk pointed lapels covered a strapless dress, which had a purpose volume on the hips. The extravagance was firmed when an electric green outfit emerged in catwalk, followed by a blue marine velvet dress, with impressive shoulder pads. The glam bright covered cropped jackets, trousers and long skirts and golden and feather took place in the catwalk.
The runway had the famed presence of the Burlesque dancer, Dita Von Teese, and was closed letting the impression of peculiar proportions, asymmetrical forms, unconventional shapes and even then, delightful. The unexpected for the eyes is still the most pleasant game.
