Kenzo Spring 2011 | Paris Fashion Week

Last June 26th, Kenzo had presented his menswear collection during the Paris Fashion Week.

Kenzo’s collection for spring 2011 had began with a fresh French character. The stripes, horizontally or vertically had invaded the catwalks just as the berets and the blue marine/white/red outfits. The current creative director of the brand, Antonio Marras, took as inspiration the journey of Kenzo when he came from Tokyo to Paris, in late sixties, to hono the 40th anniversary of the brand this year and re constructed the walking in the opposite side: a French man who goes to Tokyo by the first time.

The French accent from the beginning goes, slowly, taking an explorer look, covered by khaki and neuters, but keeping the personal style. Crochet, knitting, handcrafted garments and artisanal weaving took place and the Japanese old techniques of ink and watercolors also appeared in the apparel. Big prints, one unique color of outfit (in vivant hues) and a few plaids also made part of the elegant collection.
To give an up-to-date, the designer took two wonderful women dressing his clothes. Joana Preiss and the model Hannelore Knuts had chose looks from menswear and dressed it to show how democratic is the Kenzo’s apparel, which goes well for men or woman.
