Check Rodarte’s golden collection for Spring Summer 2011

The creative designers Kate and Laura Mulleavy had presented their collection last Tuesday, September 14th, during the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week.

The partners took as inspiration their childhood background and interpreted that in the way it represented to them.
The catwalk was filled by shades of golden tones, browns and sands, with creative cutouts and hard precision on shapes and textures. A few looks seemed to be borrowed from roman gladiators, others completely wearable to day-to-day. The trousers appeared high and pleated, the shirts with cutaways and the prints passed through stripes, checkered, wooden effects to vintage blue patterns. The Mulleavys played with cropped tops and v-waist and under-the-knee skirts and showed many shoulder’s flashes on strategic cutouts, which seems to be a sticky trend for next summer. The sheer came shy, being the background for delicate laces on tops but discreetly seducing.

With quirkiness, Rodarte developed a unique collection, out of the common standards. They kept from chic to natural getting an imaginative sophisticated inspiration and transforming it in a provocative collection.
