The Street Fashion’s characters and the influence in the society

The Street Fashion, like the name already says, is a urban style to get dressed. The concept was born in the 70’s, with the punk moviment that appeared in the peak of the Cold War. In that moment were many social contrasts that propitiate the social transformation moviments. Than in England the youth, marginalized by this society start to present an agressive way to get dressed, that shows the rebel against the hypocrisy, the privileges, the conformed society and the social inequality. The punk style had strong power, and can be realized until nowadays, with the torn jeans, the piercings and the tatoos. The icon of that style was the punk band Sex Pistols.

The street fashion is a tribe’s manifestation and is closely connected with the young moviments of a kind of music and beyond the punks, another tribes had been appeared. The hip hop moviment, that start in afro american comunities, is an example.The hip hop culture covers basically 4 important elements like the rapper, the DJ, the graphite and the breakdance. The skate arise in the 60’s turning in another group.So, the different form to get dressed showed from which group each person was, since all them had particular characters. Celebrities like Eminen and 50 cents diffuses that style.

The last decade still had the retirement with own characters of each style. The punk with turn clothes, the rapper with really large clothes and the rockers with their thight pants. Nowadays there’s no tribe’s separation and the mainly reason is the internet. With the speed of information, the news comes and are absorbed instantly and inserted in the way to get dressed. Today, at the same moment that a style is create it can be disponible to the whole world and that allows much freedom in fashion productions.

Nowadays the people that adopt the Street Fashion doesn’ t want just belong to a a group, they search for a mix of styles to create a unique style.There’s no more streetwear norm since the public likes many music styles and clothes. The diversity and the globalization made an approach in older groups and today the characters are mixed, seaching for a look, not from a group, but personal.The biggest example of that is the Japanese Street Fashion, that presents countless mixes.

The fashion is quite dynamic and change often, and because of it, fads appears and desappears with the same velocity. Fashion can start in streets and inspire stylists that gives new versions, turninmg it popular. It happens with the new streetwear that have tailoring garments and social shoes and pants. The pupose of this fashion, even after so many years, is still the same: Show trought the clothes a innovated and different mensage.
