Appearing on Chanel’s and Prada’s latest runways (to say the highlights) the midi skirt is the most promising garment for Fall 2010. Already walking on streets, the midi skirt rescues the retro lengthen from 50’s and renews it, allowing different materials and modeling. Mostly with a v-waist and loose shape, it appears round or in an A-line, a bit down the knees. The versions come in wool, cashmere, pleated in sheer fabric, cotton or even in leather and synthetic materials.
With a different reference than they had a few seasons ago, the maxi dresses emerged once again in fashion. Vintage and stylish, the models come sometimes slinky, other with a Greek fluid inspiration but most of all, in neuter one color hue. The newness is the use of thin waist belts, a relaxed clean shape and fluidity. The maxi dresses are being matched with the seasons hits: boyfriend blazers, cropped jackets, being knotted or in sheer materials.
The winter asks for warmness and style, and it’s a season where people usually dress with more elegance. To enhance all the natural sophistication of this season, the catwalks brought stupendous fashion characters. June 9th, Nicolas Guesquière had presented Balenciaga’s Resort collection for 2011.
