A famous tourist point is the
Flor de la Nación, a metal flower which have a system of open during the day and get closed during the night. It’s located in a neighborhood called
Recoleta, where is also the Malba museum. The whole
Recoleta is known about the cultural space joined in a same place, as colleges, libraries and museums.

Casa Rosada is headquarter of the Argentine presidency and is in front of the
Plaza de Mayo in a avenue which connects the government headquarter to another historical building which is the Congress Palace, where the Legislative power of Argentina is.
About old historical buildings we have much more! The brilliant
Cólon Theater is the richest amazing building of Buenos Aires where they have the greatest ballet, concerts and opera presentations of the country, The theater was launched in the beginning of the XX century, in 1908 and carry the new renascence Italian architecture mixed with a French baroque style.
Another building which was preserved and turned into a cultural area is the
El Ateneo Grand Splendid, which was an antique theater and nowadays take in a fantastic bookshop. It was building as a theater in 1919, in the last decades turned into a cinema and in 2000 turned the bookshop. Where were the seating now there are book shelves and the stage had turned into a coffee shop, where the customers can take coffee or a simple meal.
Palermo is another neighborhood, almost entire uptown, with beautiful houses and a huge wooded area. There you can find the Galileu Galilei Planetarium and the Japanese Garden, which is managed by the Japanese community. You can also find the
Palermo Chico, where is the Italian immigrants and the
Palermo Viejo, which is the antique area where were the known Chorizo of the XIX century, and where nowadays is the cultural life zone, full of indie cinemas, design places and a uncountable number of restaurants and cafés with gives the ward, a choppy day life.

For those who appreciate food and culture, a wonderful and historical place is the
Café Tortoni which is a restaurant and café with Tango and Jazz sessions and was building in the XVII century, in the Mayo Avenue. The Tortoni have historical visitors of intellectuals, politicians and artists, and it’s the oldest coffee shop of the country. It’s a place where the history of Argentina and its traditional flavors are preserved, creating a vintage cozy ambient. There you can take a coffee or taste a meal which is followed by the famous argentine meat.
